Crown Sport Nutrition energy gel is an energy gel with a perfect ratio of nutrients. It has a liquid texture. It contains fast-absorbing carbohydrates and a high content of amino acids and minerals, which are essential for proper hydration.

Features

About the product:

A mixture of carbohydrates in a ratio of 2:1:1 (maltodextrin: dextrose: fructose), which provides immediate energy intake to maintain the glycemic index.

Contains an ideal matrix of three carbohydrates. It has been shown that carbohydrate intake during exercise increases performance (Cermak, N.M. et al., SM. 2013; Pochmuller, M. et al., JISSN. 2016). It has also been shown that the consumption of carbohydrates absorbed by various cellular transporters, in the case of prolonged exercise (> 2.5 hours), is the only way to increase the rate of assimilation and oxidation of exogenous carbohydrates above 60 g / hour (Currell, K. et al., MSSE. 2008; Earnest, CP et al., JSCR. 2004). This is important, as it is often forgotten that the consumption of exogenous carbohydrates during physical activity reduces the immunosuppressive effects caused by intense exercise (Nieman, D.C. et al., EIR. 1998).

The addition of amino acids, arginine and taurine contribute to greater performance and help maintain the glycemic index and better vasodilation.

Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs): Taking these amino acids with carbohydrates during exercise has been shown to reduce muscle damage (Valentine, R.J. et al., IJSNEM. 2008). Branched-chain amino acids are also highly oxidized by the muscles, meaning they are used as an energy source, which reduces the use of glycogen in favor of fat. In addition, taking these amino acids during exercise reduces central fatigue syndrome (CFS) and consequently the production of serotonin (a neurotransmitter associated with symptoms of fatigue and mood) (Kerksick, C.M. et al., JISSN. 2.018).

Arginine: is a precursor of nitric oxide (NO) and reduces lactate concentration and improves aerobic capacity. It can be used by the muscles as an additional source of energy.

Taurine: has antioxidant, metabolic and ergogenic effects, among others (Galloway, S.D.R. et al., JAP. 2.008). Its intake, together with other ingredients, has been shown to improve muscle endurance during exercise (Hoffman, J.R. el al., JCSR. 2008) and stabilize cell membranes with potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium (Bouckenooghe, T. et al., CNMC. 2006).

Mineral supplement

It also contains significant amounts of the main electrolytes such as sodium, potassium and magnesium, which contribute to hydration during intense and prolonged exertion.

– Sodium (Na), which is lost the most through sweating and is essential for maintaining hydration during physical activity (each gel contains approximately 110 mg) (Panel NDA. EFSA Journal. 2011).

– Potassium (K) and magnesium (Mg), the loss of which could be associated with the occurrence of muscle cramps; also added in the form of highly bioavailable salts such as magnesium citrate, which also means greater absorption.

Caffeine and guarana addition

Caffeine and guarana: in the versions of the gels with caffeine, caffeine is added (in pure form and as Guarana), the most effective ingredient for directly increasing performance, both in terms of endurance and strength (Grgic, J. et al., BJSM. 2.019). In addition to activating the central nervous system (CNS), it delays fatigue and optimizes the use of cellular fuels (glycogen and fat), while improving muscle contraction (Lopes, J. M. et al., JAP. 1983), which is why its effectiveness is especially evident when fatigue sets in.

It differs from other energy gels in its excellent and at the same time very mild taste and texture. The extremely liquid texture allows for easy and pleasant intake.
